What I'm Reading: April

Each month, I'll share what I'm reading. Everyone loves a book recommendation, but mostly it's to hold me accountable for reading them! Let's go through the books for this month.

Year of Yes: How to Dance It Out, Stand In the Sun and Be Your Own Person

by Shonda Rhimes

Why I'm Reading: Because Shonda Rhimes! I'm an absolute fan of her writing, especially her scripted TV shows on ABC. But beyond my obsession with her shows, she's an incredible role model for any writer and business woman.

Silent Child

by Sarah A. Denzil

Why I'm Reading: When my coworker recommended this book, I was immediately turned off by the cover because I thought it was a thriller. However, the book description alone pulled me in. I'm not normally a suspense fiction reader, but I'm excited to start this. Besides, it's only 99 cents on Kindle! Check it out.

I'm Judging You: The Do Better Manual

by Luvvie Ajayi

Why I'm Reading: I usually come across Luvvie's posts on Facebook, and her book was recommended when I added The Year of Yes to my Amazon shopping cart. I know I will not be disappointed with chapters like "Gosh, You're the Worst" and "#Hashtag #I #Hate #Your #Hashtag #Abuse."

How to Write It, Third Edition: A Complete Guide to Everything You'll Ever Write by Sandra E. Lamb

Why I'm Reading: I'm a gut writer. I write what I think sounds good, and that's worked for me so far. But even a good gut writer could use some tips. From love letters to employee reprimands, this book has it all.

What are you guys reading this month? Let me know below, and maybe I'll read next month.
