Six Word Story September
How many words do you think it takes to tell a story? With the right words, you only need a few.
Ernest Hemingway is attributed with creating the famous six word story: For sale. Baby shoes. Never worn. I first came across this micro-story in a creative writing class I took in undergrad, and it's stuck with me ever since. Even after all these years, it still makes me a bit sad. All from six words. I wanted to challenge myself to come up with a few stories of my own. Let me know what you think:
Ate gas station sushi... still sick.
I wished I never clocked in.
Bought a Powerball ticket. Millions richer!
Oops, ran that light! Crap... police.
Love you, but I can't stay.
She was a bald-headed survivor.
I'm normally pretty concise in my writing, but a six word limit was a challenge! I'd much prefer taking a six word prompt and elaborating, but this is a great way to get creative. It's your turn... and you can win a prize for it! Submit a six word story on my Facebook page to be entered into a giveaway for a $25 Amazon gift card. Get an extra entry for sharing the Facebook post.
The winner will be randomly selected on October 1st.
